McCormick Place Hotel

Located along the shore of Lake Michigan, McCormick Place features four state-of-the-art buildings: McCormick Place North, McCormick Place South, Lakeside Center, and the new West Building. The four buildings can handle small corporate meetings, mid-sized conventions and mega trade shows.

McCormick Place Convention Center is convenient for all our trade show guests. Most of the people staying with the Ramada use the Metra Train located just two blocks away and only a five minute ride to the inside of McCormick Place. Directions and schedule is listed below.

McCormick Place North

The McCormick Place North has over 700,000 square feet of exhibit space that can be used independently or in conjunction with McCormick Place South and/or Lakeside Center.

The North Building also includes: 2 exhibit halls (496,000 square feet and 209,500 square feet) 29 meeting rooms Grand Concourse Lobby, featuring 35,836 square feet of space; can be used for registration or exhibit space.

McCormick Place South

The South Building features 840,000 square feet of exhibit space and is linked to the other two buildings by a glass-enclosed Grand Concourse, a 100-foot high ceiling, 900-foot long walkway featuring a business center, gift shop, visitor information booth and other amenities.
The South Building includes: 1 exhibit hall (840,000 square feet) 43 meeting rooms 33,000 square-foot ballroom

Lakeside Center

Lakeside Center features over 583,000 square feet of exhibit space, and has been retrofitted to meet the needs of a variety of needs of different groups.

Lakeside Center also includes: 2 exhibit halls (300,000 square feet & 283,000 square feet) 40 meeting rooms One of the largest ballroom in the city (45,000 square feet) Arie Crown Theater (4,249 seats)

West Building

McCormick Place West has more than 700,000 square feet to this exciting conference facility.

The West Building includes: 1 exhibit hall (470,000 square feet) 250,000 square feet of meeting space Chicago's largest ballroom

McCormick Place also has the newly opened busway between the convention center and downtown. By allowing charter buses for convention and trade shows to bypass local traffic, this two-lane, 2.5 mile road decreases travel times and busing costs.

The entire McCormick Place complex is linked by a 50,000 square-foot pedestrian promenade, referred to as the Grand Concourse, containing retail shops and other visitor amenities.

Getting to McCormick Place from the Ramada Lake Shore is quick and easy!

Metra Train
Walk two blocks south on Cornell turn right and go under the bridge. On the South side of the street is the entrance for the Metra Train. Estimated cost is about $3.00 to McCormick Place which is the last stop before downtown Chicago

Driving:
Take Cornell street directly behind the hotel and turn right (north) go the red light (49th St.) turn right and drive under Lake Shore Drive and turn left to go North onto Lake Shore Drive. McCormick Place is approximately 5 miles from the Ramada. As you get closer to 31st Street you will notice the directional signs for McCormick Place.

There are two main parking lots at McCormick Place. Events in Lakeside Center and Arie Crown Theater use Lot C as the primary parking location, while events in the North and South Buildings use Lot A as the primary parking location.

Lot C is an underground garage that allows a 6 foot height clearance; it is located on Ft. Dearborn Drive, adjacent to the Lakeside Center. Lot A is a six level garage that allows an 8 foot height clearance; it is located directly across from the Grand Concourse/Gate 4. Covered walkways from Lot A lead directly into McCormick Place for your convenience.

Parking:
The parking rate is currently at $19 for all day parking. Parking fees can be paid by cash or credit card; VISA, MasterCard and American Express are accepted.
Cab Fare to McCormick Place:
An estimate for cabfare to McCormick Place is $15.00 - 16.00. Cabs are always out front of the Ramada waiting to serve you.
